CDC was approached by Newnham Croft School, Cambridge, to redesign its reception and office space to improve the experience for pupils, parents and staff.
Working with senior members of the school, CDC developed a design concept that considered finishes, furniture, colour and lighting. A new seating area provided a place to wait and relax, whilst integrated racking allowed the school to present useful information and hold books. A new oak reception desk provides an open yet securable interface between office staff and parents. Within the office, the area was reconfigured to increase storage and improve the layout. The design allowed for most components to be pre-fabricated, and all of the work was completed during the summer holiday period ready for the new academic year.
